Woodland Picnic Party Details:
This is what Shona said about planning/styling the party- “We set up a beautiful table for the children to share complete with blue gingham table cloth & fabric napkins, pink & green plastic woven baskets, wooden pieces, teak mushroom and fairies. At each place setting was a moss green felt placemat with woodland decorations made from paper and buttons.
We had a sweets table that consisted of a naked cake with 2 tiers of white chocolate mud cake, apricot & vanilla bean jam with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. There were also vanilla bean mushroom, deer, rabbit, acorn, owl & squirrel cookies and strawberry mud cake pops. The cupcakes were chocolate with chocolate cloud frosting made by me. The table was decorated with fake grass, teak mushroom, wooden pieces, wall decal, gold jars with blossom, greenery hanging from the top and a small collage of fabric covered embroidered hoops. The naked cake was decorated with flowers a beautiful rabbit figurine holding a balloon which looked just like a Sylvanian Family Rabbit!
We kept activities simple as the park has it’s own playground and veggie patch. We took a few large bubble wands for the children to share and we also did a ladybug in a jar craft using some tiny corked bottles, wooden ladybugs, wooden wool and glitter.
All of the guests feasted on Brown Rice Waldorf Salad, Potato Salad, Toss Salad, Cold Meats, Antipasto Platter and Sourdough Breads.
The children each took home a party bag with Woodland tags filled with treats.
The party was absolutely perfect. The sun was shining and we felt so blessed to be surrounded by so many children and their mums. Having the party during a week day turned out well for a 3 year old party as it meant we had the weekend to relax”.
