Twilight Zone Party Details:
This is what Michelle said about planning/styling the party- ” Youre traveling through another dimension a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Thats a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Twilight Zone!
We recently celebrated my two older sons October birthdays with a Twilight Zone Party! When we celebrate their birthdays with a party, I traditionally plan a joint birthday party. This year the boys asked for a party around our favorite family TV show. Of course with Halloween just around the corner, I couldnt resist!
Right off, I knew I wanted everything to be black and white just like the TV show. With less than 10 evenings to prepare, my hunt for decor began with a quick google search to see what was available in the party world. I was happy to see that there werent a whole lot of Twilight Zone themed parties out in cyber space, so I was up to the challenge!
For the backdrop, I found the perfect Twilight Zone swirls at Oriental Trading Company and printed my own title backdrop. Using my Cricut Explore, I made the large eye, door, clock and martian to emulate the famous Twilight Zone introduction. By combining my Cricut Explore, Sizzix Big Shot and some stamping techniques, I created the gravestone treat boxes, window treat boxes, cupcake toppers, candy apple toppers, and cake pop toppers. I also made tags for the treat bags sent from my friend Katie of Celebration Lane.
The Sweet Treats:
We ordered a Twilight Zone themed cake from our local bakery and my friend, Jamie made my boys their favorite black and white candy apples and cake pops. I then added my candy apple toppers to carry on the theme. Katherine from Creating Awesomnessity made her delicious themed sugar cookies for the dessert table and Wynter of Sweets from Heaven Outlets of Orange made iconic Candybobs. Autumn from Autumn Lynns Chocolate Sins made eye ball cake balls and I dressed up store bought cupcakes with black and white striped cupcake wrappers from Bella Cupcake Couture and topped them with the assorted toppers I created. I filled the favor boxes with salt water taffy and gumballs and displayed black, white and silver gumballs and white gummi bears in apothecary jars”.
