Michaels Dream Tree Challenge 2014- Black, White & Gold Christmas Tree!

I’m so excited to reveal my 2014 Christmas Holiday Dream Tree for Michaels — a modern BLACK, WHITE + GOLD TREE! 

This is the third year that I have made a tree for Michaels, and I must say, it is always one of my favorite projects! I wanted a white tree this year, so with some spray paint and tree flocking I turned the green into snow! My inspiration for the ornaments started a few weeks ago when I spotted some fabulous black, white and gold wrapping paper in amazing striped and polka dot patterns while shopping at Michaels. The second I saw the wrapping paper I knew what I wanted my tree to look like. Everything on the tree is from Michaels :).

But without further adieu, here’s my modern polka dot, striped, black, white + gold Holiday Christmas tree…

Using paint markers, I wrote various Christmas Holiday inspired “words” on black, white and gold bulbs.

I painted and glittered sets of XO letters to use as ornaments on the tree.

I painted the edges of cardboard heart ornaments with gold paint then covered the front sides with striped black and white wrapping paper (all from Michaels).

I dipped the tips of black feathers into gold paint and glitter. LOVE how they turned out!
