Circus + Carnival Baby Shower Details:
This is what Erica said about the styling of the party- “Summer means: Carnivals, pastel colors, cotton candy, soda pop, happiness, and lots and lots of balloons! Having a summer baby girl means: A carnival baby shower!
My cousin made me a box office for my wedding 6 years ago. I wanted to get some use out of it again….So I gave it a pastel makeover and added some metallic gold curtains and lettering. Make it the perfect carnival ticket booth. I also displayed a marquee sign to welcome guest with a little story about the mother & her baby to be. For the centerpieces I painted pastel stripes on formula cans, filled them with blush and coral colored roses and had gold elephants coming out of them with balloons tied to their trunks. I included some vintage coca-cola bottles with some ticket table numbers, and some gold spray painted coca -cola cups with some additional floral.
The food table was decorated with pastel colored circus animals, welcoming the guests with “its a girl” in mini gold foil balloons, surrounding a gold Ferris wheel statue. As for the food: guests could cool off in the house, enjoying croissant sandwiches, fruit, and salads. Outside was where the party was …..the treats and desserts! I used my metallic gold bar, with pastel tassels, and pastel balloons to display the popcorn bar. Guests could choose from cake batter popcorn, muddy buddy or cookies and cream. There were also colorful gumballs, taffy and licorice and cotton candy cupcakes. To cool you off…I used my cute turquoise Ikea cart to display the “pop” , which included mini circus animal drink stirrers, which were my favorite! The mother-to-be sat in a turquoise painted rocking chair with pink balloons attached as she enjoyed the company of her guests. Guest took home Pastel IBC rootbeer bottles that had little gold circus animal toppers.”
