Christmas Ugly Sweater Party
Christmas Ugly Sweater Party Details:
This is what Carolina shared about the party- “I cant believe that Christmas is just around the corner with parties and fun celebrations everywhere! Today Im super excited to share a fun and colorful Ugly Christmas Sweater Party idea that will make you want to wear an ugly Christmas sweater all week! When I style a party, I like to go and explore fun online stores that could have cute stuff and one of them is Oriental Trading, there I found the cutest accessories to add to my table.
I had so much fun creating the backdrop, I really wanted to create a big replica of how some ugly Christmas sweaters look and I decided to use the diamond pattern that many sweaters have. To create this backdrop, I traced a diamond shape onto a piece of cardstock and then later used that to trace the shape on the Christmas Foil Sheets. I choose the red and green colored sheets, but you could also use the gold or silver ones that come in the packet, or you could also wait and use them for New Years!
Once I had them cut out, I glued them all together and added some white pompoms just to add some texture and to top off the whole ugly Christmas sweater look.
Cakes, cupcakes, cookies and candies are a must when having guests, especially when kids are around! I had these cute dishes from Hallmark and decided to use them to serve jelly beans and gumballs, of course adding a little touch to it. I found these Mod and Merry Stir Sticks and just slid them in. Then to add an extra little something to make it cuter, I put a cute white bow on the top. I also added the cupcake picks that came in the Ugly Sweater cupcake set. I really liked how it was all coming together!
The cake was made by Johana from Latin Bakery Austin. I wanted a simple green/white cake with not too much going on since we already had a lot of fun patterns all around the table. I added more of the Mod and Merry Stir Sticks and some plastic Christmas lights on the cake to add some pizzazz.
One of my favorite things, that I always include on my dessert tables, are cookies. I just love how they bring a special touch to the table. These cookies were made by Creating Awesomenessity, she made them to match some of the cupcake picks from the Ugly Sweater Cupcake collection. Arent they fabulous? Love the tiny little gingerbread man on some of the cookies.
I also added popcorn, just in case my guests are in the mood for something salty. I love love love to make popcorn the old-fashioned way. It came right from my stove, not the microwave! I found these cute mini red/white striped popcorn boxes and filled them up! Once again, I added the picks from the Ugly Sweater cupcake set.
I love these colorful patterned tree cut-outs, so prefect for the occasion and I really think it added a great touch on one side of the table. When I got them in the mail and saw how cute they looked, my imagination went crazy with countless ideas on how to use them”.
