Modern + Rustic 1st Birthday Party
Modern + Rustic 1st Birthday Party Details:
This is what Kate said about styling the party- “This is probably the day, as a first-time Mum and Designer, I dreamt about for a very long time! My son Carter’s first birthday. I really hate fuss and wanted to create a loving and quiet day for our family and little C.
I knew my local coffee hang out, and second home would provide the best location and got about planning the day. The upstairs was reserved just for us and the room was full of soft afternoon light. Perfection!
I went foraging the day before, gathering a heap of long leaf eucalyptus to make a garland for the table, mixed with some native and magnolia leaves. The stationery was minimal and I carried the little bear theme from the invites onto the main cake – salted caramel flavoured with vanilla buttercream icing. Thank you Kim!
Cheers to Macarons!
From the beginning, I knew I wanted to incorporate macarons and thought they would make the most perfect favors for each of our guests. Bridget from J’aime les macarons supplied us with 3 incredible flavors. Chocolate, Salted Caramel & Pistachio. Of course, I picked them based on colours… but the taste blew us away! Each macaron was wrapped in its’ own cotton drawstring bag and custom stamped. There was also enough for the mini dessert bar. I had a real vision for it and both these ladies helped me achieve and exceed my expectations!
Carter spent most of his time playing with his large balloon and digging into his cake. Blueberries and bare feet for the win! His smile and happiness is contagious and we are nothing but proud of him. Here’s to many more years ahead little guy!”
