Alice in Wonderland Birthday Tea Party

Alice in Wonderland Birthday Tea Party Details:
This is what Zoe shared about the party- “For Ava’s fourth birthday she had been dreaming of an Alice in Wonderland party a la Tim Burton. From the outset I knew that we had to make this party a bit moodier than your usual four year old’s Alice in Wonderland theme.
Ava loves deep rich colours so taking our cues from the jewel toned velvets we created a beautiful tea party table and cake table in a local park. Knowing the children would be running around the park which was impossible to completely decorate, we decided to carry the theme through by making handmade velvet mad hatter hats for each of the guests to wear during the party. Feathers and vintage beads popped against the bold colours of the velvet and silk hatbands. On arrival each guest chose their own unique hat to wear and keep.
Delightful Desserts
For tea time we made tea bag chocolate shortbread and what we Australians call scones, strawberry cream butterfly cakes, jam tarts, raspberry pancake pops and meringues in pressed glass jewellery boxes. The rosette covered birthday cake was topped with a custom wooden topper from Etched to suit the woodland environment of the party. For favors we filled miniature glass vials with jelly beans and adorned each one with a brass key as a keepsake.
Like many children Ava has a nut allergy. Creating a nut free party was easier than expected with a few thoughtful substitutions and careful selection of food vendors. The birthday girl could indulge knowing that everything at her party was safe as well as delicious.”
More Mad Hatter awaits!
