Eric Carle Reading Inspired Birthday Party Details:
This is what Ji shared about the party-
“The theme for this party was a no-brainer as we have had to read Eric Carle’s books to Nathan multiple times per day. His favorite is ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?’ so I used that as my main inspiration.
Invitations were designed to mimic a board book, with a lift-the-flap on the front, which guests opened to reveal the party information and details.
Nathan and his older sister, Emma, were in charge of the background, and they had a blast using various brushes and even their hands to create the colorful background. Nathan is also a rainbow baby so I wanted to convey that with the use of the bold primary colors Eric Carle uses in his artwork and books.
We kept the menu simple with his favorite foods and snacks, Nathan’s hot dogs (of course), and personalized Coke bottles.
Favors were bookmarks, handmade with cardstock and suede cord.
I used the same materials to make Nathan’s party crown adorned with his favorite animal sound.”
