This is what Emma shared about styling the party:

“Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Sound the alarm! And grab your gear! You are invited to join us for a blazing hot celebration as I take you through Matthew’s 3rd birthday, inspired by his interest in fire engines! Burning with details hot and fiery I am confident you are going to love this party!

This memorable third birthday fired up a whole bunch of little party heroes. As soon as the little party guests arrived it was like they had stepped into a fire station! They were met with a genuine retired 1960 Bedford Fire Engine, with Fireman Kevin at the wheel, and Firefighter Matthew ready to welcome all the little fire chiefs on board!

Fireman Sam

Like a lot of three-year-old’s Matthew is a big fan of Fireman Sam, who loves to save the day! Matthew dreams of being a real-life hero and loves to dress up like a firefighter and play with fire engines! I took great pleasure in creating this party for him! Even his older brother Jack got in on the action.

We chose to hold the party at home. I feel it puts the birthday boy (or girl) at ease immediately, being in such a familiar environment. I love to welcome and greet each guest as they arrive at the party, unfortunately with the many duties of hosting, I can sometimes get caught up. With that in mind, I like to ensure there are some fun activities at the entrance of the party – this sets the little party guests at ease, and gives them an opportunity to relax and enjoy the creative activities whilst the other party guests arrive, on this occasion I created a fun building block station complete with a fabulous fire station.

Party Colors

I like to use my imagination and put extra effort into decorating a table. On this occasion, I chose a palette of three different colors, I used a mix of fire engine red, flaming yellow, and burnt orange. And presented fire caution signs at the center of each table. Bright red fire engines added a pop of color. The mini signs with firefighter quotes added another element of fun! The red fire chief hats were a hit with all the party guests!

I am sure you will agree with me, that Alison from Just Add Confetti did an absolutely outstanding job with the fabulous fire engine design! Alison created the invitation, the bottle labels, cutlery wraps, welcome sign, gift tags, and stylish mini signs. It was fabulously fun, creative, colorful, and unique!

There is nothing more important to us than long-lasting memories from any my little party event. Kate from Kate Johnson Photography is an incredibly talented photographer who captured all the important details of this fun celebration, including the beautiful shots of Matthew and Jack on board the fire truck!

Entertainment:

A celebration isn’t a party without entertainment right? Fireman Kevin from Fire Engine Fun came along and joined the fun at Matthew’s 3rd Birthday celebration! The genuine retired 1960 Bedford Fire Engine was an absolute showstopper with Fireman Kevin at the wheel he took all the excited little party guests on a ride around the streets of Kingsley. Firefighter Matthew had the very important job of ringing the bell and boy did he do it well. Fireman Kevin took all the little Fire Chiefs through some fire drills including using the firehose and all! A group photo was arranged. Best of all was the presentation whereby little Matthew was presented with a certificate as an Honorary Firefighter.

The little firefighters had loads of fun putting out imaginary fires with Fireman Kevin from Fire Engine Fun! This fun drinks station quenched their thirst with a choice of raspberry cordial which we named Firetruck Fuel and water which we named Fire Hydrant Water.

Interested in further details of the celebration? Like um, lets say the catering? Of course you are!

Menu:

We heard that the little Firefighters would be hungry after the fire drill, so we leapt into action, and were real heroes creating this red hot menu that set their taste buds alight:

blazing burgers
caramel popcorn
fiery fruit cups
firetruck rolls
flaming peppermint slice
hero cookies
red hot jellies
selection of lollies, and
sweet potato & roasted cashews and roasted beetroot hummus, crudities, and crisp breads.

I had the great pleasure of teaming up with Lisa from Cakes to Celebrate by Lisa who created this showstopper of a cake! This fabulous fire truck not only looked amazing but tasted delicious too! Layers of vanilla mud cake met with layers of strawberry ganache which set our taste buds on fire! It was absolute perfection!

The fabulous plates and confetti we used for this party (well every party really!) were sourced especially for me by the beautiful, Shelley from Favor Lane Party Boutique.

Favors:

We were eager to show our gratitude to our friends for coming to celebrate with little Matthew. I really enjoy creating little gifts. On this occasion, I created some play-doh and play-doh cutter wrapped in cellophane topped with a personalized favor tag. Each pot of play-doh had a cute tag saying: Stop. Dough. Roll.

So there you have it, Matthew’s fabulous third birthday celebration featuring fabulous little fire chief hats, a genuine retired 1960 Bedford Fire Engine, and delicious catering that fired up all our little party heroes. This blazing event truely set the hearts of the little ones on fire.”
