Modern Frozen Birthday Party
This is what Morgan said about planning and styling the party:
“Although it would have been much easier to run to Party City and buy out their Frozen party section, I really wanted to take a modern take on Frozen. Being an event planner mainly focusing on weddings, kids parties are always a refreshing break and so much fun to dream up. I was aiming for the party to be more royal and princess since that’s what the birthday girl was ALL about.
Theme-
My daughter was turning three and was in that magical (and obsessive time) with Frozen and anything princess. Plus, since her birthday is in the winter, it worked out perfectly to take the Frozen color palate and use that for the overall vision.
Decor-
Since we had boys and girls of various ages coming, I went to one of my favorite party suppliers, Meri Meri for much of the table decor. You can buy Meri Meri at local boutiques, from their website and even on Amazon! The iridescent and blue paper table top items were perfect. We also had glittery crows, knights masks, Shields, swords and princess wands. The iridescent touches were some of my favorite and we used them on invite, as a dusting on the cookies and on the table as well — it was the perfect element to modernize winter/Frozen a bit without using snow. I also purchased some iridescent fabric and rented the white fluffy linens which reminded me of an icy snow.
Touches of white floral made the table seem fit for a princess. I used acrylic because kids, duh :) But it also fit well with the more modern look.
Favors-
The personalized name straws from Krazy straws were a huge hit with the kids. And it’s a favor I knew the kids will use again! One tip with favors is to do something useful or forgo them all together and use those funds for something else. No one needs a bunch of small junky things around their homes! You could also do a fun sugar cookie or candy bag or a smaller toy the kids will enjoy for longer than five minutes.
The cookie wands were enjoyed by parents and kids alike. Elsa and Anna don’t use wands, but for girls obsessed with everything princess, these wands were perfect.
Food-
The kids really loved sitting at a fancy table. Even though they ate pizza, it was fun to see them enjoy an adult-like setting. The mini Chivari chairs were perfect. With so many kids rental companies now, they make just about anything in kid-size these days.
Activities-
Princess Elsa came to sing happy birthday and then take photos with the kids. That was a fun way to bring in the characters!
We held this in the party room of a venue with an indoor playground. Always nice to have a fun designed space next to a large area for kids to run around and let the energy out.”
